Coaching

Rec Coaches Needed!

We always seem to have more kids who want to play soccer than adults who want to coach! Unfortunately, if we can’t find enough coaches, some kids won’t get to play this fall.

YOU CAN COACH…

  • Even if you travel during the week … (you can be an assistant coach!)
  • Even if you never played soccer … (we have classes and other training!)
  • If you want to be a role model for young players …
  • If you want to join our soccer community/family …

Call any one of the Board members to discuss the many paths to becoming a Kennesaw FC Coach!

A key objective of Kennesaw F.C. is improving the quality of our coach and player skills, so everyone gets more out of playing soccer and players know that Kennesaw F. C. can be their home club as long as they play youth soccer, no matter how good they get!

Tools and resources available to KennFC Coachers include:

  • GYSA coaching classes (KennFC reimburses class cost)
  • Clinics and workshops hosted by our DOC
  • Age-group specific coaching lesson plans
  • DOC visit to team practice
  • Self-study using Club Library videos and books and Internet materials
  • Team Managers to handle administrative team tasks
  • Additional training opportunities for players including Extra Touches Clinics, Goalie Clinics, Street soccer,
  • Qualified, paid trainers
  • Training equipment for every team
  • Calling Post subscription for communication to team
  • Access to Affinity registration system for team info and emailing players
  • Reimbursement of a portion of coach’s child’s registration fees

The Director of Coaching (DOC) is an important key to the quality of our program. The DOC develops and communicates a club-wide coaching philosophy, as well as specific training curriculum components, based on the latest information from the state and national soccer community. The DOC evaluates each coach’s strengths and potential areas of improvement, and works with the coach to improve the quality of his/her coaching. The DOC also identifies new coaches who not only have excellent skills, but who will also adopt and support the club’s coaching philosophy and direction. We want to grow the club with coaches who will be here to stay with our players as they grow within the club!

Coach’s Reimbursement

Kennesaw FC will reimburse a portion of the registration fees for the children of one Head Coach and two Assistance Coaches per team. The reimbursement levels are 50% for the Head Coach and 25% for the Assistant Coaches. In addition, all coaches will be exempt from the Non-Volunteer Fee.

Other Things Every KennFC Coach Should Know…

  • Players who miss registration fee payments will have their player cards revoked and be unable to participate in practices and games. We will notify the parents and you (the coach) before the card is revoked.
  • You may not receive fees for providing training to players on any teams other than your own.
  • The DOC’s contract requires him to “visit, evaluate, and train (as required) each team at least once a season. Before the season, Daniel will distribute a proposed schedule of team visits to all coaches. It is your responsibility to work with Daniel to resolve any schedule conflicts as well as to discuss any expectations for the visit.

In June 2008, 45 KennFC Coaches responded to a survey.
