Head Coach 

  • Organize team, conduct and plan practices/training sessions, coach games, attend coaching clinics and license classes. Two nights per week and usually one weekend game. If you are interested in coaching a team, please visit the Coaching page of the kennesawfc.org website for more info.
  • Commitment 8-10 hrs per week during season.

Assistant Coach

  • Assist Head Coach in performing the above, may have to step in for head coach, maximum of two per team. If you are interested in serving as assistant coach, please visit the Coaching page of the kennesawfc.org website for more info.
  • Commitment 6-8 hrs per week during season.

Team Manager

  • The Team Manager assists the Coach with communication to the team players and parents. He/she also represents the team at some club meetings and coordinates other team parent volunteers to perform non-coaching tasks in support of the team. Tasks include creating a snack schedule, distributing Photo Day order forms and completed packets, coordinating the Fall Spiritwear special orders, coordinating uniform distribution, planning the end-of-season party, etc.  
  • Commitment is 1-4 hrs per week during season.

Rec Age Group Commissioners

  • Act as a liaison between the Coaches for their Rec Age Group (i.e. U6-8, U10, U12, U14, U16-19) and the Board of Directors through monthly reports. Assist the Director of Recreation as needed. Help recruit coaches, collect and distribute info as needed for club events (Rally Day, Recognition Night, etc.)
  • Commitment is 1-4 hrs per week during season.

Uniform Recycling

  • Club Event held during the summer before the club changes to a new uniform style. Old uniforms and outgrown soccer gear are donated for shipment to needy youth. This is a festive event with food, a dunking booth, and other soccer activities.

Rally Day

  • This Club Event is the season kickoff for the Rec players. Players meet their coaches & teams and pick up uniforms. Volunteers set up for event, direct traffic flow during event, and clean up after event.
  • Commitment is 2-3 hours before or during event.
  • The Rally Day Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that a location is reserved for the Rally Day event; website calendar is updated and homepage announcements requested; location layout and traffic flow is planned; signs are made; volunteers are scheduled to set up before, staff posts during, and clean up after event; and Spiritwear is sold during event.
  • Coordinator commitment is 3-6 hrs prior to event and 5-6 hours on the day of event.

AGMMeeting

  • Board of Directors elections are held at this Club Event and the annual budget is voted on. Volunteers check in members before meeting and provide ballots to eligible voters; assist with vote count; handle audio-visual needs during meeting.
  • Commitment 1-4 hrs during event.
  • The AGM Meeting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that a location is reserved for the AGM Meeting; website calendar is updated and homepage announcements requested; location layout and traffic flow is planned; signs are made; membership lists are printed for check-in; handouts, ballots, and presentation are prepared and the handouts are copied; and volunteers are.
  • Commitment is 3-5 hrs prior to event and 5-6 hours on the day of event.

Photo Day Coordinator

  • Responsible for ensuring that photo days are scheduled in advance with photography vendor; reserving a location; providing the game schedules and team contact info to the photography vendor (who will schedule with each team); receiving and distributing order envelopes; the website calendar is updated and homepage announcements are requested; Spiritwear is sold during event; and photo packages are distributed to the Team Managers.
  • Commitment is 3-5 hrs prior to event and 5-6 hours on the day of event.

Recognition Night

  • This is the end-of-season celebration for the U10 and up players. Volunteers set up for event, monitor hallways and direct traffic flow during event, and clean up after event; update program and presentation; copy and fold the programs; receive recognition items from vendor(s), prepare for distribution to players, and deliver to event location; and make and post signs for team seating.
  • Commitment is 2-3 hours before or during event.
  • The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that a location is reserved for the Recognition Night event; recognition items are ordered; the website calendar is updated and homepage announcements are requested; volunteers are scheduled and Spiritwear is sold during event.
  • Coordinator commitment is 3-5 hrs per week for several weeks prior to event and 5-6 hours on the day of event.

Community Outreach

  • Increase community awareness of the KennFC Soccer Club through participation in community events like parades, festivals, etc. Specific tasks vary depending on the event.
  • Commitment is 2-3 hours before or during event.
  • Each Community Outreach Event has an Event Coordinator who manages the tasks and volunteers for that event. Event
  • Coordinator commitment is 3-5 hrs per week for several weeks prior to event and 3-9 hours on the day of event.
  • The Club Community Outreach Events Coordinator oversees all Community Outreach Events, ensures there is a Coordinator for every Event, acts as a liaison to the Board of Directors through monthly reports, monitors expenses, and works with the Treasurer to establish the budget.
  • Commitment is 1-4 hrs per week during season.

Public Relations

  • Volunteers increase community awareness of the KennFC Soccer Club by providing articles to community newspapers (Brightside, Marietta Daily Journal, etc); developing promotional materials; and representing the club at Kennesaw Business Association meetings and/or functions.
  • Commitment is 1-3 hrs per week.

Sponsorship

  • Volunteers plan and execute a sponsorship campaign, which involves marketing to businesses and individuals. There are also many administrative tasks (some of which can be done from home) like ordering and/or delivering banners, plaques, sponsor shirts, website logo, etc.
  • Commitment is 1-4 hrs per week.
  • The Club Sponsorship Coordinator leads the planning and reports to the Board of Directors through monthly reports, monitors expenses, and works with the Treasurer to establish the budget.
  • Commitment is 2-4 hrs per month.

Fundraising

  • Volunteers participate in the planning and implementation of fundraising activities.
  • Commitment could be for just one activity or long-term planning with a group. Time varies from a few hours one time to 1-4 hrs per week.
  • The Club Fundraising Coordinator leads the planning and reports to the Board of Directors through monthly reports, monitors expenses, and works with the Treasurer to establish the budget.
  • Commitment is 2-4 hrs per month.

Carnival

  • One of the Club’s fundraising events which also serves as an opportunity for players and their families to get together. Volunteers plan and staff the Carnival activities which include food, games, inflatables, a dunking booth, music, and a raffle and silent auction.

Field Maintenance

  • Volunteers ensure goals, nets, sand bags, and corner flags are in good working condition before and during the season; line fields before and during the season; and report repair and equipment needs to Field Maintenance Coordinator. Commitments can be as small as one field for one week of the season. This can often be done while at field for child’s practice.
  • Commitment is 1-2 hrs per week during season.
  • Each field has a Field Maintenance Coordinator for the entire season who oversees the weekly volunteers, provides goal repair and maintenance supply requirements, and field status reports to the Club Field Maintenance Coordinator. Field Maintenance Coordinator job is mostly administrative and can be done from home.
  • Commitment is 1-2 hrs per week during season.
  • The Club Field Maintenance Coordinator consolidates the repair and supply requirements for all fields, schedules the welder for goal repairs, orders field supplies as needed, reports to the Board of Directors through monthly reports, monitors expenses, and works with the Treasurer to establish the budget.
  • Commitment is 2-4 hrs per month.

Website Maintenance

  • Volunteers keep the content of a section of the website current (for example, Calendar, Game Schedules, Sponsors, etc.)
  • Commitment is 5-10 hours per week as needed for an entire season.

Web Developer

  • Responsible for interfacing with the website provider, renewing the domain name annually, ensuring that all website sections are up-to-date, providing support to other section maintenance volunteers, and providing new requirements to the Website Design Committee.
  • Commitment is 20 hours monthly for a year.

Website Design Committee

  • Volunteers collect and prioritize website function requirements; make design, develop, select, and/or purchase decisions; and act as project manager for development activities.
  • Commitment is 4-8 hours monthly for a year.

SpiritwearSales

  • Volunteers sell Spiritwear at club events and activities, which include community outreach events, practices and/or games, Photo Days, Rally Day and Recognition events; transport merchandise to and from the sales location; set up and take down tables, chairs, and/or canopies; and reconcile the cash box and prepare deposit.
  • Commitment is 2-3 hours before or during event.
  • Each Sales Event has a Coordinator who manages the tasks for that event, which include scheduling volunteers, ensuring tables, chairs, and/or canopies are available, and being responsible for the cash box accounting.
  • Coordinator commitment is 3-5 hrs prior to event and 3-9 hours on the day of event.
  • The Club Spiritwear Sales Coordinator oversees all Spiritwear Sales Event Coordinators, ensures there is a Coordinator for every Event, acts as a liaison to the Board of Directors through monthly reports, monitors expenses, and works with the Treasurer to establish the budget.
  • Commitment is 1-4 hrs per week during season.

Spiritwear Merchandise Coordinator

  • Volunteers develop the Spiritwear sales strategy for upcoming year and present to the Board for approval;make merchandise and vendor decisions; order, receive, and inventory new merchandise; manage Spiritwear budget and report expenses and revenues to Treasurer; work with the Treasurer to develop the budget; inventory all merchandise on a quarterly basis; oversee cash box receipts; ensure every Sales Event has a Coordinator; and monitor Event Coordinators and assist as needed.
  • Commitment 1-4 hrs per week.

Uniform Coordinators

  • Ensure all players have official Kennesaw FC uniforms. There is usually a separate Coordinator for the Rec and Select programs. Uniform styles are usually changed every 2-3 years. If the club is continuing with the same style as the previous season, the Coordinator projects the number of new uniforms needed for the upcoming season and places an order with the uniform vendor; monitors the actual uniform orders during the registration period, orders additional uniforms if needed, coordinates the delivery of uniforms to players, and manages any returns/exchanges.
  • Commitment is 3-5 hrs per week before and early in the season.

Uniform Selection Committee

  • Early in the Fall season preceding the change to a new uniform style, the Uniform Selection Committee forms to collect information from vendors, collect feedback from the players, and make uniform recommendations to the Board. The Committee also prepares the contracts with the vendor, plans the uniform distribution and prepares any distribution contracts, works with the Treasurer on pricing and payments, and ensures a smooth transition to the Rec and Select Uniform Coordinators.
  • Commitment is 15-30 hrs.

Club Volunteer Coordinator

  • Work with other coordinators to ensure volunteers are available for various club events and activities. This is mostly an administrative task which can be done from home with email and the phone.
  • Commitment is 2-8 hrs per week (more at beginning of season).
